The delfina flipper can be connected by clockport, zorro or pci :)
so if you have your a1200 in a tower, it works in a zorro or pci slot AFAIK.

i have pci yes..but the flipper pci version aint out yet and besides i belived it was for later models only (no elbox stuff yet)

so...clockport is my only option....
any suggestions? ..any ways of having both a flipper and a powerflyer fast ata in it?

I see... I assume the fastata uses the clockport.
So the only option would be to use some sort of clockport-doubler. Not sure if it works, though, since both the fastata and the delfina need most of the clockports capacity.
Or, you could just buy a cheap pci soundcard instead. But I guess you have a reason for wanting the delfina?

@Lemp ;)

Well, as you say, the flipper interface is not out yet, this means you can connect the board only to a clock port or a expansion port of any Individual Computer Zorro cards. As you do not seem to have any Zorro stuff, your only option is to connect it to the clock port. The delfina comes with a cable to connect it to the clock port and if I remember correctly, the powerflyer has some space to be able to connect a clock port device via cable (as long as the cable can fit in the tight space left for the port by the powerflyer itself). One more thing you need to think of is the physical place the delfina will have once it's conencted to the clock port. As it does not have any holder or backplate to fix it and the clock port cable is not (and cannot be) that long to place the board anywhere you want inside the tower. Obviously the board has to be percdectly isolated and at the same time you must be able to access the RCA-type connectors for the audio output. So, my suggestion in firstplace is to find someone with a delfina and see your connectivity and placement options and take a good decision upon that. bear in mind too that the delfina cannot reach its best performance in a clock port, it's enough to play mp3 at best quality though.

Cheers :)

@Lempkey

Np :)

I'd send you a pic of it, but It's connected to my Var I/O... maybe someone here has it connected to a clock port.

If the PFlier is already raised, you don't have too much trouble connecting it to the clock port, your remaining problem would be the place to fix the delfina in. Not too much problem anyway...

As for Mr. Ind. Comps... you won't see anything from him here, you have to email him directly. You can find his email addres at ami.ga

@lempkee

If sound quality is the most important parameter for you, you should consider purchasing a Terratec 512i Digital, not a Delphina. Terratec 512i sound quality is much better then that of Delphina's. If an MP3 decoder is a must, take a Delfina and connect it to the clock port. You will need ribbon extension for the clock port to use Delphina with Power Flyer.

Not trying to scare you out of it, but check out this thread on the Delfina that was brought up a while ago here.

I was almost in the same boat as you (I have the Mediator and Z4 combo) and was fed up with mp3 lockups with the sb128.  I installed my Delfina onto the clockport of my Highway card in a Zorro 2 slot of the Z4 and all was okay until I installed DelfinaMPEG.device and started playing mp3's.  The Delfina gave me the 'famous' lockup and ceased to exist upon rebooting.

I sent my card back to the dealer I bought it from over 3 weeks ago now and still have yet to hear back what's going on with my card.

Hopefully(!) I simply got a defective card, but from the other problems people posted on the previous thread I'm a bit nervous about being too optimistic.

Also this thread about an MHI driver for Delfina for use with the program Streamer leaves a nervous feeling too, as it is claimed that Michael Henke has left the Amiga and will no longer be updating and fixing the bugs in DelfinaMPEG.device and it's corresponding MHI driver.

I would read those two threads and take my experience with the Delfina into consideration before plunking down the rather hefty sum of the Delfina's price tag.
