Question about A1200 sound
« on: September 24, 2007, 08:46:33 PM »
It's probably a silly question, but when my EZ Z4 A1200 tower apears this week, I'm going to plug it into a monitor instead of the tv I always have in the past. How, then, will I be able to listen to game tunes and general sound? I can get ultra-cheap PC speakers from a local shop  - will I be able to plug them straight in?

the A1200 has RCA jacks for sound output... the red/white plugs... they are the same like the standar AV cable that comes with the Saturn...

You need to get pc speakers with RCA input. Your best bet would be to hook up a standard stereo amplifier though, as they always have this input and gives much better sound quality than pc speakers.

Or he could get regular PC speakers, and an adapter cable (2xRCA -> 1x3,5mm plug)

 PC speakers are crap!

But you don't need to trust me, give it a try. They'll sound awful when you hear it.

Better get a real stereo amplifier or those lovely Amiga monitors with built in speakers.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Yeah right

'Real' stereo amplifier - waste of money (unless you get it cheap).

'Lovely' Amiga monitors with built in speakers - now there's real crap sound for you!

Take a look at these - Ebuyer - Creative

They won't break the bank and will sound fantastic. :-D

There are plenty of alternatives, but anything over ten quid will sound great (compared to monitor speakers).
