... that's a "photo" report ;-)
I had no time for captions... but I wanted to upload the pictures as soon as possible. In next days I'll add the text.

And how about the big rumour: OS4 on the SAM ('cause Hyperion being a guest on the ACube booth)?

Probably nothing, or anybody would have written something about it already.  :-D

Reports indicate in the area of $700 (500-550 whatevers). It's not clear if anyone actually purchased a SAM at the show, or if they were even available at the show.

An empty box and an equally empty announcement.

@jorkany

They were available and the "high-end" version (667 MHz, 512 MB) costs 489 Euro + VAT (special show price was 449 Euro + VAT).

The information can be found at amiga-news.de, unfortunately in German only so far, it's not translated yet. But in the german news-item there are links to corresponding english forum postings at AWN.

Does SAM run OS4?  If not, then what's the point of it even being displayed at Pianeta Amiga?  It has no place at an Amiga show unless it runs an AmigaOS.  If I wanted Linux, I'd go to a Linux forum and buy one of the many boards out there that run Linux.  I'm tired of hearing the makers of SAM make unfounded promises that their board will run OS4 "soon".  Their track record so far is no better than that of AKC.  Either they can put up, or shut up.

Current exchange rate for 489 EUROs is $689 USD.

And where have they made such promises? Yes, the plan was originally to have OS4 running on it, but things changed with Amiga INC terminating Hyperions license, filing a lawsuit and so on.. The only one you can blame for no OS4 are Hyperion and Amiga INC. The people who developed this board has nothing to do with OS4 development, so how can you expect them to port OS4?
