I have the Voodoo4500 working flawlessly with my Mediator since early last year.

Though, Mediator setup reports a Voodoo 5500.

From what I've been told, the grphic chip is the same on both, just that the Voodoo5 has twice as much memory.

And I've read from others that they had a Voodoo5 working flawlessly with their setups.

So I'd assume yours should work...
All the best,

The Voodoo 5500 PCI has two GPU's working in SLI.

Except that in a Mediator it works as a Voodoo 4 and ignores the second GPU.

It's also a {bleep} to configure with P96 too.

They come with the mediator but if it's one of the early versions and the owner hasn't got the Elbox Multimedia CD afterwards from Elbox you'll have to buy it to get all the latest drivers for PCI cards

Far as I remember there is no 3D drivers for this card  :-?

Is there any noticeable benefits having this card over a voodoo 3?

There is 3D drivers for, it uses the Voodoo 3 drivers

No actual benefits except you have 32mb RTG memory if you set en ENV variables to use it

The Voodoo 4 and 5 have more supported image formats that are an advantage with MAC emulation, Descent, and maybe TVPaint. There are other advantages but the Amiga drivers don't currently take advantage of them. There are several disadvantages of the Voodoo 5, the huge size and high power consumption. Performance on the Amiga is pretty similar to the Voodoo 3.
