I think if he owns an A1200 then he is entitled to a copy of WB3.0. Any other argument is just anally retentive. Anyway, we all know the law is an ass...

(In England, ass is a donkey, not something else!)
I like Amigas

@ LP

I don't have Amiga Quake, Napalm or OS 3.9 :-)

Seriously though, it's dangerous on a subject like this to say one thing and mean another.  If people got the attitude as a result that companies are right to demand all kinds of things in their license agreements, the rights of the customer would go straight out the window (near pun not intended).

I agree with your later point, how would I know if this guy really lost the disks, and in the end I'd probably advise him to try and make face to face contact with someone who does have the WB3x disks so that he can provide proof of ownership.  However, as everyone knows, there are plenty of sources on the web for workbench disks, so it would be much easier to get a copy from there.

OK, Kudos to whoosh777 & teotwin, after leaving the A1200 on for a few hours, and shaking the harddrive abit, it fires right up.  After the Amiga fires up, I finally realized how long it has been (6 years!) *Sigh* I totally forgot all the commands (of course my manuals are no where to be found :P ).  The first 2 things that I want to do is to re-create the workbeach disk and copy all the content to another harddrive.  If anyone care to point me to any webpage, or just feeling generous to help me out I would be greatly appericated.

my email address is azdolt "at" yahoo "dot" com
I am in the San Francisco Bay Area in USA.

Thank you once again.

Alan.

P.S. the A1200 is the first computer I brought. :)
