i am trying to install a program and it keeps asking me to insert volume df2 in any drive, I have no idea what this means.

What program are you trying to install?

Where did you get it?

How are you trying to install it?

Is it on a floppy disk, CD, or something else?

What commands are you using to try to install it?

It sounds like a badly-written install script looking for files on a device (DF2:) rather than a volume (MyProgramDisk2:)

Use the shell to assign DF2: to the source of what you're installing.

Oh, in an emulator. Well I'd say try what the other dude said and make sure the install script isnt badly written and try assigning DF2 to it. But since youre emulating, you also should check at all your emulator settings are OK. Or buy a real Amiga If this is a commercial program (PageStream) then that makes me think an emulator setup issue is more likely than a badly written install...

I have an A1200 and a CD32 for the record.

i just dont have the space in my new flat for it and dont really have the money to upgrade it so WINUAE is far more convenient for me just now.

Can someone tell me what DF2 is?

DF2: is (usually) the name for a second external diskdrive. The (main) internal diskdrive is always called DF0: the first external drive (or second internal drive with big-box Amiga's) is called DF1:

I think that either the install script is looking for a disk in drive DF2: , or it's looking for a disk which is called DF2. In WinUAE, you can enable drives DF0: to DF3:. Try putting a disk image in the virtual DF2: drive and see what happens.

I have tried putting the disk into DF2 however it is still having the same problems.

I tried adding a hard drive maybe this has something to do with it.
