hi people
« on: August 13, 2007, 05:18:33 PM »
Hi

After not really using my Amiga since the last of Amiga Format I have really become interested in it again recently and have spent time viewing many sites some useful some not so.

I love my Amiga in a way I could never feel about a PC, why that is I do not know and i'd love to see the Amiga Inc ideas come to fruition, hopeless as it may seem I am always optimistic on a new Amiga!!

Hi welcome to the group.
As for a NEW Amiga, I done think you will see a production line model as that is out of the question these days.
But there are many add ons for an Amiga, that make it more worth while to use.

http://www.amigakit.com

http://www.elbox.com

Are two examples.

The AmigaOne series is discontinued.  The legal status of AmigaOS 4.0 is being decided by US courts.

Are Amiga Inc going to do anything?

Does anyone have anything positive to say about them, or at least hold out some hope they will do something worthwhile.

Hopefully Amiga, Inc. will roll over and die so that Hyperion Entertainment VOF can produce AmigaOS 4.0 and sequels in peace and have the freedom to develop on boards not sanctioned by Amiga, Inc.

Amiga, Inc. and Hyperion Entertainment have a license agreement similar to the one that Novell had with SCO for UNIX.  If Amiga, Inc. were to go insolvent then the rights to AmigaOS 4.0 would go to Hyperion Entertainment to develop.  Since Amiga, Inc. Washington went insolvent and sold/gave it's rights to KMOS which renamed itself Amiga, Inc. Delaware.  This means that Hyperion Entertainment should be the owners of AmigaOS 4.0 and anything derived from its source code.

They are currently in discussions with the government of the Byzantine Empire to open a factory to manufacture next generation Amiga 9000 systems in Constantinople.

In other words, Amiga hasn't existed since the mid-1990s and the fact that some unrelated company is now running around calling itself Amiga is nothing more than a bizarre fiction allowed by current trademark and intellectual property laws.

But surely if someone owns Amiga or the rights to the title they would want to use it to make a profit?

I have never understood the succession of Amiga owners post Escom who have never released anything.

Wasnt amiga inc to release a high end and low end computer?

I think that may be because most were a bunch of totally incompetant morons.
But then again what else would you expect.

If the Amiga were to be re-established as a modern day computer that is well worthy a good sale, then you need a good bunch of brains behind it.
Not a bunch of p****s with there heads stuck up there a***s

Bill Gates must have laughed his head off at the shear incompetant idiocy of the so called brains behind the Amiga company of the day.

All I can say is that there right hands must have been very busy.
Yes I am angry, I am angry at the thought of how the Amiga could have turned out, but didnt.

I think I will now chill or blow a gasket.

WHY YOU LITTLE.....$%*&££$%$$.....@#%**£$%$.....#@*&$*%&*&*

Mike.

You're giving A Inc way too much credit there.

Hi dude, and welcome!

It's a shame about the current situation but it has been like that for so long that I, personally, just don't give a t*ss anymore about possible future OS4/MorphOS/AROS machines.

Well actually AROS maybe because it could run on the machine I'm typing this on right now.

Hope you stay around.
