How to tell if A3000T has INT_2?
« on: August 05, 2007, 03:53:40 PM »
Is there a way to determine if a A3000T has the INT_2 already implemented?  I saw this text on Aminet...

A4000 and some A3000T models have an interrupt line called _INT2 on the
CPU (FAST) slot.  On the A3000, this slot is CN606, and the line is on pin 82.
However, this pin was not connected in the A3000D, making PPC and other
accelerators which use this line incompatible.  Most accelerators which have
onboard SCSI, will require this modification.

There will be a single wire soldered to the CPU fast slot, look here for more information. http://amiga.serveftp.net/A3000_INT2_mod.html

This is usually done on the back side of the motherboard. I have a dead 3000T motherboard with the mod done if you need a picture of it.

Well I read that the latter 3000T MB's without the onboard 030/FPU might have this line already.  I guess I can test the pin 21 on U350 and pin 82 on fast slot and see if I get 1OHM or less?

I wrote that article a few years ago, so you can also blame me for the crap photos taken with my 700k pixel digital camera :-)

Yep, the multimeter (ohmmeter) test is all you need.  Just use this diagram.

Tried it and it seems I do not have the INT_2 factory done.  Since I have no need for it now I will just pass and do it later if I need to...
