a600
« on: July 29, 2007, 04:05:22 PM »
I have two A600HD's in the box. Both have Mtec a630, 2mb chip ram and 800mb hard drive. Both units work and look like new. I was thinking of selling one, and wanted some input about what is a fair value of the 600. I know the accelerators are very rare. Any opinions?

I dont think A600 accelerators are THAT rare. Yours have some big hard drives though, so thats a good bonus. Your best bet is probably to get on ebay and look at completed sales to get an idea what the high and low end sale prices are. It's hard to give any serious values on old Amiga stuff, because you can get on ebay where there are lots of collectors willing to pay $200 for a computer, while someone else can find the exact same model computer at a thrift store for $10, or get it free from someone who just wants someone to "get this junk out of my closet." Its worth whatever someone will pay for it, and there is a big range in that.

Ebay will probably get you the most money, if thats what you're after.

The Mtec030 for the A600 ís rare. I wouldn't dare to put a price on it but I think you can get a good amount for it on eBay.

Ebay Bro, best way to go.  A lot of people will spend a pretty penny on an amiga model they dont have.  I know i've spent prob about $1000.00 on different amiga stuff there so far.  Cheers

I have never seen a 600HD with accelerator on ebay, I have seen one mtec a630 and that went for $275.00.

@amiga92570

How much Ram can that Mtec take?  does it have a 72 pin SIMM slot?

I would be interested in it.

@murple
800mb Harddrive is not that big......at least a 10gig would be good size these days.

I have a 40Gig in my A1200 and plan on getting a 180gb LaptopHD for it and maybe one for my A600.

alot of oldtime Amigans often wonder why one would ned this much space on an Amiga.......its quite simple:

MP3's
Large animations
loads of WHDload games.
Digital pictures from your Digital Cameras.

Remember Amigas can use Compact FLash and SD and USB, so transfering files is a breeze. I cant comprehend why people pay $150 for  those Higher Density floppy drives that can read PC 1.44mb floppies.

CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

The Mtec has 4mb. You can expand to 8 if you have the chips and soldering experience. I have done one, but have not been able to find any more chips. The Mtec runs most programs though and you can disable it if you want to. I know what you mean about Mp3's, I have a 80gb almost full of video and tunes.
