Lack of sound on my A1200 Tower
« on: July 29, 2007, 02:07:59 AM »
I am hoping that there is just a seriously silly answer to this one.

I was trying to get sound to come through from the A1200 Tower.  I had it hooked directly into my 1084S to use it's speakers since I didn't have anything else handy.  When I went to play an MP3, it came out all distorted.  I thought it was the MP3s, so I found speakers and punched them in and tried played a mod.  I was hardly getting any sound out of the speakers and what was there sounded horribly distorted.

Anyone have an idea on what is going on?  I am on an A1200 with an 030/50 accelerator with 2MB Chip RAM and 32MB RAM on the accl.  I am running OS 3.9

Check :
PSU -12v if present !!
Dead Audio capacitor
a 030/50 can only play MP3 if it's setted as :
Paula 8(or 14 bits) stéréo (or monoral) - 22 Khz 8 bits (sometimes 16 when you got an FPU), half or low quality mode !
Keep the Faith !
