USB wifi cards for A1200, avoid USB2.0 only ?
« on: July 20, 2007, 02:04:32 AM »
Getting one for my PC but would like it to be Amiga compatible too, seems like some of you here actually got it working, any network class type should work or is there anything else to take into account, like USB compatibility, cause most advertised cards on eBay are for USB2.0 ?
Also I want one that works with USB1.1 cause my old PC is USB1.1 only;) and I want to use it to test a wireless card in an A1200 that so far was unable to connect to an AP.

Don't know anything about usb wireless cards... but the Microsoft MN-520 PCMCIA card works flawlessly.

Does Poseidon support USB wireless ethernet? As far as ethernet goes, I know it supports the pegasus chipset and the ASIX chipset. I'm pretty sure the pegasus is wired only, but I don't know anything about ASIX.

Finding out which actual products are attached to a specific chipset is quite difficult, though. The Linux community can be helpful in this regard sometimes.

From what I recall, there's a driver for a bluetooth device, but the developer's documentation needed to create an actual bluetooth stack is insanely expensive. Hence, we probably won't see it for a while (if ever).
