Odd WHDLoad Problem..
« on: July 16, 2007, 12:48:09 AM »
Hello all,
I have been trying to install some of my old original
games, like MK2 and Pit-Fighter, and just after the credit screen,
I get thrown back to Workbench with this error:

Exception "Access Fault" ($4008)
   PC = $A090D02
   Instruction stream fault on $A090D02

Well, I am pretty sure both games are pre-AGA, so I tried turning off
caches, NOVBR, PAL, etc. I Downloaded the latest version of WHDLoad
and the installs from the WHDLoad website.

Anyone have some more ideas?

My sys: A1200T, '060/50MHz, 128 MB RAM, OS 3.9 w/BB1&2

Maybe the installs are suited to an older version of whdload?

Maybe they need updating?

A screenmode change (NTSC/PAL), NOCACHE and NOAUTOVEC usually get things working for me. Also, the command you're using should be NOVBRMOVE, not just NOVBR.

But some installs are just old and incompatible and there's not much you can do about it. Filing a bug report might help.

An old version of WHDLoad in the install directory perhaps? Doesn't it get searched first?

Thanks for the advice, eveyone...

@Matt_H: Yeah, I meant NOVBRMOVE, I shouldn't post after a few drinks :)

I wasn't aware of the NOAUTOVEC, though, maybe I'll try that...
