Amiga Power (Magazine) CD32 concept art
« on: July 03, 2007, 12:35:01 PM »
Hi everyone,

I was looking at my CD32 and suddenly recalled Amiga Power doing some concept artwork back when the machine was announced. Does anyone have a scan (yes I have trawled Google without success :-() of any of it? Or have I just gone mad(der)?

Cheers

Have you checked the Amiga Magazine Rack?

Ah 1995, when having Annie Lenox on your desktop meant the future :-D

Cheers, will have a look through there! I'd forgotten all about it's existence.

Hmm Issue 50 has the actual first review of the CD32 in AP but I've gone over the 200 image a day limit :-(

Ah well. Btw yes I am at home sick and very bored :/

Whilst I'm talking to myself I might as well let myself know that I think I found it in issue 27... now I just have to wait until tomorrow.

What got me started on all this was that the concept was for a slot loading cd32 that I thought looked quite good. I hadn't got any further than that mentally :-D

Maybe this will save someone else looking for it another day... or just me in a few months when my currently feverish brains has forgotten all this :-D

Yup it does appear to be in Issue 27, on pages 10 to 15... however, pages 10 to 15 are the pages that they do not have scanned :-(

Damn. Any suggestions? Or anyone have that magazine they can scan in? I'm only interested in the artists impression/concpet rendering of the CD32.

Strange I wonder why these pages are the only ones missing.

AMR is always looking for people to contribute. If you don't have a scanner just send your magazines to someone who has one to scan them in for you. :-D

Wow... I had no idea Amiga Magazine Rack existed. Impressive! :-)

I find that it looks very eyecandy and aesthetically pleasing but it lacks some functionality, that is to say, does not allow you to immediately glance at the list of available documents and to quickly identify what you're looking for...

Still, it's a huge effort collecting the material and indexing it...

I was surprised to note that there was even some material indexed from my own page (the Italian Amiga Magazine archive).

It is also the first time that I saw Compute's Amiga mag. I had no idea the graphics design and page layout was identical to that of early issues of the Amiga Magazine. I knew that at the beginning Amiga Magazine was mostly translating articles from Compute, but I had no idea they took the layout as well. That was, IMHO, the best mag layout ever.

OK, enough rambling. :-D

I can easily scan the artist's impression of the CD32.  I think it originally ran in Amiga Format but I'll have to track it down.

We're gradually filling out missing pages, but the original focus of AMR was to get a working reviews database so that reviews could be added to the Hall of Light database.

If anyone has stuff to contribute, or are after something in particular please get in touch with us via the English Amiga Board.
