Just bought a Dremel...
« on: June 19, 2007, 10:37:11 PM »
...and I'm pretty impressed, I've got to say.

It's a Dremel Multitool 300 with an extra flex-cable thingy and a 55 tool pack (36 of which are identical cutting discs). £50 from B&Q.

I was expecting the cutting discs to kind of score the surface a bit before disappearing in a puff of smelly smoke, but they actually cut quite well through the 1mm steel chassis of the Sunblade 1500 case I'm modding. Have had to lay off for a bit, as it's getting late and I don't want to p155 the neighbours off.
Mac Mini G4 (1.5GHz, 64MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.6
Powerbook 5.8 (15", 1.67GHz, 128MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.8.

Windows-free since 2011-2014 (Damn you Netflix!)

Hmmm... I was thinking of getting one myself... now you have endorsed it... perhaps I will!

I think Moto has one too, not sure which model.

Personally I avoided the battery version - more expensive, and you're bound to have to replace the battery after a year or two.

you ought to try polishing with it. :)

works great. and i didn't have the flexible bit attachment.
The only stupid question is a question not asked.

Win•dows: n. A thirty-two bit extension and graphical shell to a sixteen-bit patch to an eight-bit operating system originally coded for a four-bit microprocessor which was written by a two-bit company that can\'t stand one bit of competition.

Mine isn't a dremel. It's a Silverline Multi-Tool which is compatible with dremel bits. I used it to do my A4000D PSU Hack and once I got used to it it was lovely to use.
