cybppc.device and >4GB drives

Anyone know if blizzppc.device is happy with >4GB devices without OS3.9? I'm planning to install 3.1 on a spare partiton and disable my KickFlash to see if OS3.9 is causing my ShapeShifter problems, and I want to make sure I don't corrupt my SFS partitions by using them in 3.1.

blizzppc.device? you got a Blizzard PPC card now?  :-o

I guess you mean cybppc.device which is on your Cyberstorm MKIII  ;-)

Sorry, yes, cybppc.device is what I meant to say :crazy: It is indeed for my MKIII. I always put blizppc.device instead of cybppc.device when adjusting mountlists etc. Don't know why as I have never had a Blizzard PPC card! :lol:

Anyway, any ideas if cybppc.device is ok with >4GB under 3.1? I am aware of the check4gb tool on Aminet but am reluctant to try anything with >4GB partitions until I know 100% that no damage will occur.

It will work. the floppy that cam with the MKIII controller should have info on it on how to set it up.

Didn't get a floppy with my MKIII. Is there anything I need to do except install SFS?

 I use SFS 1.270 in a plain OS3.1 enviroment here. With a Microbotics 030.
 
 Not even a single issue about >4Gb border. And a lot(!) of professional programs running beyond.

I currently have an 80GB HD on my Mk3.  (Had a 120GB but swapped it out knowing I would never fill it up.)

With SFS and cybppc.device you don't need to worry about 4GB issues. You can even make a 100GB boot partition if you like.
