WANTED: Delfina 'Flipper Edition' clockport soundcard
« on: June 08, 2007, 05:32:22 AM »
Hi again! I'm interested in buying a second-hand Delfina Flipper Edition for my A1200's clockport.

Is anyone out there looking for some motivation to shift an unwanted Delfina?

A few online stores are still selling them new for about 100 Euros but since I'm on a fairly tight budget, I thought I'd investigate the possibility of a pre-owned card first. Please feel free to add to this thread or pmail me if you're interested in starting a negotiation:)

P.S. I've recently traded successfully with another Amiga.org user and because I'm only a new member, you might want to glance at this thread to assure yourself that I'm not a scamster;)

Syphus/Gav 603e+/1260 trade

Cheers.

Cheers, mikrucio:) That's another reason I didn't want to buy one new... I've read up on the Delfina a lot (mainly on this forum) and it's really hard to know whether it'll be better or worse for what I want - higher quality output from HivelyTracker via AHI. So I'm not desperate for a Delfina, but I *am* willing to take a bit of a risk if the price is right:)

They're hard to make work in Zorro Amigas with clockport expansions, for some reason or other...  I have no idea why, but the stars have to be aligned just so for my delfina to be recognized in my A4000.  On the other hand, if I put the Delfina in my A1200, it works without a hitch, each and every time.  Go figure

I have a "spare one".
That is I can't get it going on my clockport off my A1200.
It worked ok with a zorro clockport on my 4000(with a special library).
What is your config off the 1200 that it works?
Do you have a 060 and the special delfinalib to go with it?
Or standard A1200.
I emailed Jens and he advised me to remove a resistor on the backside off the delfina which cured the freezing when opening the delfinalib on startup.
But freezes on playing now.
If I can't get it going I'll sell it I think..

I would reccomend you Not buying a delfina .. If you can buy a prelude card in stead it is far better "trust me i had 2 delfinas and tried in my 4 different 1200ds!
Also tried 4 different delfina libs psus etc No go choppy sound and static sound .. Cant really blame my hifi equiptment either as i have used those cards with cheap headset wireless, A denon amp, Hi end amp system from norwegian "HEGEL" , Harman kardon 505 Limited edition amp all alot of static sound on delfina non on prelude. tried fooling about with all possible software for it + ahi etc .. Got a prelude stoped :madashell: :getmad:  :pissed: :furious: Jan any longer

There's nothing wrong with a delfina flipper...

I have one in my A4000 (Running off an X-Surf clockport I think.. either that or a Buddha IDE) and it's working really nicely :)
Back to action!

@Amiga4001:
Strange..  My A1200 is bone stock.  68020 with 4 megs of RAM and a 40M hard drive.  I also have two delfinas, both of which work great in my A1200.  Neither of them will work on the clockports of my X-surf in my A4000T, however.  I also have a Subway which does work on the X-Surf as well as on the A1200.  It really makes no sense..

Just make sure you do your research how to conect it properly to the clockport, you won't get a second chance!!!
