How to identify ram speed?
« on: June 07, 2007, 03:50:12 PM »
Hi
On my blizzard ppc menu the ram is set to 70ns,now i am having random crashes mainly while playing mp3 under warpup.

Now i have no idea what speed my ram is,but if this setting was too fast for the ram could that cause the amiga to crash?

The best way to identify the speed is to look at the memory chips on the SIMM itself, the one line will have something like 54100-60 the -60 or sometimes just -6 denotes 60ns.
TBH I would think your RAM is 60ns, its by far the most common.

Yes if the setting was too fast (as in 50ns on a 60ns simm then it would cause problems)

Thanks for the reply,i'll take a look...But i had changed the setting down to 60ns and the machine has been on a while playing mp3 and surfing the net without a crash so far.

Fingers crossed then  :-D
