A3000T Kickstart ROM's
« on: June 05, 2007, 09:14:46 PM »
Hi all, I know this is a stupid question but I can't seem to find the answer...

Is there any difference between the A3000 desktop and the A3000T Kickstart ROM's?

Thank you for clarifying that.

I want to upgrade my newly acquired 3000T with 3.1 ROM's, now time to locate some for decent price.

Only 4 places to look:

www.amigakit.com

www.vesalia.de

www.ebay.com (why not? Give it a try)

www.softhut.com

Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Awesome.
A3000T is a beast when fully loaded with video cards, drives and such. Check that powersupply though. Overloading can result in failure. My A3000T is awaiting a replacement.

@rkauer

Thanks for the links!

Amigakit is great, I have ordered from them before, problem is I always get nailed with customs fee's (damn government!!!) and for the A3k ROM's they are a bit on the pricier side.

I've never ordered from Vesalia but will check them out.

eBay is an option but I can never tell if they are legit ROM's or not e.g. http://cgi.ebay.ca/AMIGA-3000-Upgrade-Kickstart-Rom-3-1_W0QQitemZ280120371764QQihZ018QQcategoryZ4598QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Not sure if these are legit or copies.

Will check out softhut, closer to home, but have never dealt with them.

@T3000

I know this thing boots up faster than my A4000T (but I think its because the A4000T is looking on the IDE chain when it boots up and I have nothing there, it's all SCSI)

Just purchased that MKII from Keropi he had for sale on here to install in the A3000T, already have a network card for it, working on a Video card, would like a PIV to match the A4000T (I just love the whole scandoubler integration) but I guess a CV64 will do just as well since the A3000(T) has a scandoubler/flicker fixer.

Oh and thanks for the warning about the power supply!!!

It's close to impossible to tell legal from illegal ROMs since there were only EPROMs, no masked ROMs ever made.
