Sometimes screen goes repeatedly on and off while (very slowly) loading in some games, can that be solved?

Maybe it's accessing a file outside the slave, which means it has to switch the OS back on to let AmigaDOS load the file. Make sure the PRELOAD tooltype is enabled.

Those are called 'OS Swaps' by the developers. Since the games themselves are not multitasking, in order to get disk read/write access the 'emulation' needs to be paused. With PRELOAD a lot of this can be eliminated if you have enough RAM, but if a game has a save feature, saving to disk can also trigger the OS swap.

@ orange

We were getting the pausing and flashing screen when trying to play Worms The Directors Cut in an A1200 Desktop with 8 meg of fast memory. But after putting in a 32 megs the problem was gone  :-)
