« on: May 24, 2007, 06:51:16 PM »
Hi
I,ve just installed os 3.9 on my a2000, but now when it it boots the sreenmode is set that low that the use and save buttons are off the bottom of workbench so I'm stuck with what I can do to change it to PAL: High Res Laced?
Any help, please

You should be able to drag the screen around enough to reach the button or be able to keyboard shortcut it.

If you can't another alternative would be to take a disk that boots to the screenmode you want, and copy its envarc/ dir over your bootdisk's envarc/ dir and reboot.  ;-)

As far as I know, all the preferences programs support SAVE and USE parameters on the commandline.

You specify a preset (which you need to create using the preference program's Save As option) and the USE switch together:

Prefs/screenmode Prefs/presets/myscreenmode.prefs USE

One thing, though, having your shell open on the workbench screen will be a nuisance to intuition which won't want to change the mode until the window is closed (or iconified).

To elaborate on Piru's post, pick the mode you want and hit "Save" from the project menu.

Thanks Everybody, the first couple of times I tried to save through the menu a error message popped up (can't remember what it said), just tried it again and its worked.
At the time I thought the os 3.9 install was going to smoothly, something had to go wrong.
Cheers
