QUESTION 1: ...... If I had the Subway USB device that plugs into the Clockport, does it support Wireless USB Mice? does it support regular USB mice?

QUESTION 2:  ..........I own a Mr Myza PS/2 Mouse adaptor and it works great with PS/2 mice.....but is does not seem to work with USB mice even though they have a PS/2 adaptor.........Why is this?  anyone ever had it work?

QUESTION 3: with all those PS/2 keyboard adaptors for Amiga 1200, is it possible to use a wireless PS/2 keyboard on the A1200 with one of those PS/2 keyboard adaptors?    can it use a USB keyboard with a PS/2 adaptor?

it would be really really helpful to know.

Q2 - I've built quite a few mouse adapters based on the PS2M design and all have worked with USB mice that came supplied with a USB/PS2 adapter.  However, if the USB mouse didn't have a USB/PS2 adapter supplied, then there's a good chance it's USB only and won't work with your Amiga/PS2 adapter.  Something to do with the USB and PS2 'protocols' being different (no idea really).

There's usually a sticker on the underside of the mouse stating 'USB & PS/2 Compatible' or something.

Q3 - I've built a PS2 keyboard adapter based on Stephen Marsden's design, which works great with wireless keyboards.  I've no idea (yet) if a USB keyboard will work, but if the keyboard is supplied with a USB/PS2 adapter or has a sticker saying it's PS/2 compatible - then it      should work ok.

What I meant about QUESTION 3 was.........I was talking about those Keyboard adaptors that plug into the A1200's Motherboard or the internal Ribbon Cable, that people use when they want to tower up their A1200's.  I was wondering if those type of PC keyboard adaptors allow wireless PS/2 keyboards. also if they allow USB keyboards with the PS/2 adaptor.

I am about to work on an Amazing A1200 project that I think all of you will like. :-)

To be honest - I don't have any experience with commercial keyboard adapters.

But what I can say is that Stephen Marsden's design (IBMkey25) requires connections to the reset, data & clock pins on U13.  If the commercial solutions are the same/similar, then there's a good chance they will work with wireless keyboards.

I'm not well up on the electronics side of things, but I imagine that for a USB keyboard (wired or wireless) to work with a USB/PS2 adapter - it has to be 'PS/2 compatible' also.

I'm working on an adapter that combines the PS2M and IBMkey25 designs.  Headers will be provided so that either PS/2 or USB style connections can be used for keyboard and mouse.  At the moment, the board is built and the PIC's programmed - but I need to finish off the cables so that I can test it out.

So in effect, I need to know the same thing - are there any USB keyboards with PS/2 compatibility?  I'll have a hunt around and see if I can source a cheap USB keyboard and try it out.  I'll let you know how I get on!  :-)

Take a look here -  Ebuyer - it's the UK site, but there should be a similar product your side of the pond!

For what it's worth I have a Highway card in my A4000 using Poseidon. Connected to the Highway card is a PS2->USB keyboard/mouse cable (fairly cheap on eBay). To this I connect my Trust 300KD wireless keyboard and mouse combo.

All works perfectly, through a Belkin 4-way KVM switch. So, I have 4 machines using the same wireless keyboard and mouse, including a PC, a Mac Mini, an AmigaOne and an A4000.

Don't know if that helps any but that's how I get wireless keyboard and mouse via USB on my A4000!

Yeah.......but what I want to know is if a USB wireless keyboard works with that if it has the PS/2 adaptor?

@amiga92570

yes, I know...I have a Mr Myza myself and use it with a PS/2 mouse.........but it doesnt work with a USB mouse even though I have the USB of that mouse connected to a PS/2 adaptor then attached to the Mr Myza on the Amiga.

this is what I want to know........if it works for anyone here.............to be honest though.....this PS/2 adaptor didnt come with this mouse, so maybe thats the reason. But I think I remember trying one that did come with a PS/2 adaptor.  also want to know the same for USB keyboards.
