BOSO
« on: May 15, 2007, 10:57:53 AM »
Boso is a place that students can buy or sell stuff online.

"Oxford University undergraduates have set up the first online market just for students. BOSO (Buy Or Sell Online), www.boso.com, is an eBay-style website for Oxford students to trade all those items they need while at Oxford but may never use again, like textbooks and gowns."

Thinking back to my college days the only items in my possession I bought but never needed again were approx 1137 empty cans of lager and unopened twelve pack of latex contraceptives which were rapidly approaching their sell by date.

Invest?

I suppose that's one way of looking at it.

In other news today, police are investigating a break-in at a house in Chiswick, London, in which a sock was stolen...

Definitely an investment... I've not done sex for ages!

On a similar vein (fnar) a pal of mine who'd encountered the age old phenomenon when you find that the time you most definitely need one of your little rubber life - and bank balance - savers there were none to be found.

I'll repost a (true) story I submitted to B3ta.com a couple of weeks back:

Quote

Just for the record, I wouldn't stoop THIS low.

"Have you, erm got anything?" breathed his newest prospective squeeze when things began to take a passionate turn.

"Not sure, but I'll have a look" answers the gentleman in question knowing full well he's out of rubber.

Now I like to think that if I were in his position, I'd fess up and say "Not tonight Josephine, let's just hold each other like two chaste lovers and discuss poetry instead" safe in the knowledge that I'm being a gentleman and that no local all night pharmacy is within sprinting distance.

Our hero simply retires to the bathroom and draws a biro line round his old boy, before returning to the dimly lit boudoir and announcing "Ooh, I found one".

sincere apologies to la Blob for subverting her post!

I must absorb some of the blame here too.
It seems the thread was doomed once Bloodline, PMC, myself and Wilse got in  :-P

Hum,
after studying the prices, I've just realised that most students have  no real grasp of reality.

I hear depreciation is pretty fast on those things
Mac Mini G4 (1.5GHz, 64MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.6
Powerbook 5.8 (15", 1.67GHz, 128MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.8.

Windows-free since 2011-2014 (Damn you Netflix!)
