They pop-up for a reasonable amount on ebay.

I picked one up, brand new, for $25 about a month back. Their BIN was something ridiculous like $100, but to my surprise they accepted my offer. I tried to buy another at that price, but their lowest offer was $69... far too much for a 68882.

One has just sold on ebay for 200 Euro Item number: 260115417091. Made my bid of 25 Euro look silly.

200 EURO?!?!?!
There's 33 and 40MHz PLCC and PGA version respectively on Amigakit. But paying 200EUROs for a 50Mhz chip. That's nuts!

68882 search on AmigaKit

 :-o Crikey!

This appears to be one of the chips on my Blizzard 1230 MK IV.

It has two chips on it:-

MC68030RC50C

MC68882RC50A

Why is it so valuable and sort after?  :-?

I've just used SysSpeed on it and I'm getting the figures CPU 68030 (51 Mhz) and FPU 68882 (177Mhz)

Isn't that 177Mhz figure a bit odd?

If you don't think you need it, talk to me. ;-)

I'm not sure what is going on with your FPU speed figure. If it means that you don't trust your FPU, I'll offer to test it for you. ;-)

 I'm sure it would work fine without it.

WhichAmiga causes the A1200 Desktop to freeze, so I'll try to find another program to double check that FPU figure  :-)

Thanks for offering your services though mate :-D

No problem. ;-) I'll even offer an extended burn-in and stability test. A year's worth of Distant Suns, maybe... I mean, if you're not using it, it's just waste heat. :-)
