For some bizarre reason they cast Russ Abbott as Al Bundy.

I just nearly coated my monitor with fish and chips when I read that.

For those of you who have no idea who the hell Russ Abbott is, imagine Michael Barrymore with everything that makes him a lovable comedian removed.

You appear to have mistakenly used the phrase "lovable comedian" in a sentence involving Michael Barrymore.

No I didn't, I just wanted to convey how awful Russ Abbott was.

That is quite possibly the worst "comedy" show I have ever watched.

Quick turn on to BBC3, you might catch "Two Pints of larger and a packet of crisps"... then consider if it's the worst comedy ever...

I'd rather watch an episode of Two Pints...  every hour on the hour for the rest of my life than sit through Russ Abbotts Mad House again.

Very true, so much US stuff that gets remade here loses something along the way.

Did anyone ever see the UK remake of Married With Children?
I think it lasted one season before it was canned. For some bizarre reason they cast Russ Abbott as Al Bundy, which should give some idea of how unfunny it was.

God be merciful...

-edit-

To be fair, I do remember finding some of the sketches funny when I was a kid. Basildon Bond and Miss FunnyFanny.... *snigger*
