Whats wrong with my cd rom?
« on: May 11, 2007, 11:16:05 AM »
When i boot up the cd rom works fine, but if i don't access it for a while and then try and open it, it hangs and I can't do anything else and have to reboot.
Any suggestions

as you list it as 52x then its gotta be IDE right?
Then its normal stuff, check that its Master if its the only one on the chain, if it shares the cable make sure they are both not set to master or both to slave.
As its not taking down the whole system Im going to say its not that your cable is running close to some chips or anything like that.
Other than that its a matter of reinstalling the CDFS software I guess (although it cant go to wrong)
Good luck :)
