I know it has existed for long, but never had any reason to try it. I prefer static IP addresses, which makes easier to connect different computers with different protocols. Most people have external router nowadays anyway, so no point use anything else than static addresses :)
Daily MorphOS user and Amiga active.

Unless you live near a public WiFi access point ;) Or have a van with an Amiga inside. Or a high gain external antenna and just want to fiddle around with the signals you get ... ;-)

Must say I find it fascinating that you could pay for a TCP stack and still have to go elsewhere for your DHCP solution.

I thought that Genesis was licenced, but AmiTCP (for which Genesis is graphical user interface) wasn't.

but yes, it's "as free as warez goes" - as long as you buy the operating system, of course

Isn't arexx also unlicenced? But I guess it was already during Commodore times...

Well, genesis obviously refers to the whole package here.

But true, Genesis pretty much is just a MUI GUI for AmiTCP/IP.

Okay, then weird that you could buy an OS with TCP/IP support but no DHCP. Either way...
