Installing Amiga OS 3.1
« on: May 05, 2007, 10:09:52 AM »
I have an Amiga 1200 with Kick and OS 3.1

I want to install that on my one iMac G4 to. Have given up doing it
on my own - Tried to install OS3.9 and didnt succesed... ***LOL***

Im using this 2 programs to make the "emu" on my mac with Tiger 10.4 PPC
(They came with Amiga Classic 4 CD, for Mac and PC ... )

1. UAE Config Creator 1.0 by Nexus
2. UAE Dropper

I have managed to get my Kick3.1 from my A1200 to my iMac, and all my WB3.1
disc's to .adf. All that is already on my mac.

I can config', so that I can run my WB3.1 - But no Im confused ?!?!?!

1. How to instal ?
2. How does the prg remember what I have done ? Stupid Q I know.. ?!?
3. What file to launch from the UAE dropper after installing ?
4. Im confused and want a working OS3.1 on here sooooo bad !
5. Can I run .lha within my OS3.1 when it finally works ?
6. Is there a web browser under 3.1 ? Or must I upgrade to 3.9 then ?
I have a orig. 3.9 cd, but can't run it on my A1200.

A little help please ? ... And please no one with... Google !!! I have tried that
and it didnt help me that much.

Sorry that Im dumb - I used to be a AMOS programmer *LOL*

Unless you write the ADFs to floppies on the Amiga or copy the  OS3.9 CD to the Hard drive of your 1200, you're SOL. A stock 1200 can't run OS3.9 anyways.

Oh! I'm so sorry, I misread your english. I apologize. I'd help you out, if I had a Mac. =( I'm sorry. Does it use the same HDF files. I mean, that it uses emulated hard disks? I could send you a HDF file, that just had the OS installed, if that would help?  :-?

Funny but you DID help me :) ... It's soooo simple.. DAMN IM DUMB... Now it works -  I made a Harddrive and formated it in WB3.1 ... Then I reboot, and installed everything on that one. Then I made my changes and "boot" from that harddrive...

I now have a real fast Amiga :-)

But my Snowwhite A1200 is still my favourite :)
