Anyone receive items from amiga.org member pan1k?
« on: May 04, 2007, 07:51:48 PM »
Hey all,

A continuation of this thread.

If anyone else hasn't received items they paid for, or otherwise has anything to add, this would be a good place to do it. :-)

I paid $10 for Amiga "Brilliance" software.  Because of some complications I am not sure if I got it yet (i.e. I had it sent to my parents who were living for a short while in the US, but it did not arrive in time - before they came home).

It might have arrived (to the place they were staying) after they left, in which case I won't know until they return to the U.S. in the fall.

I e-mailed him about three weeks ago to ask when he sent the package but I haven't got a response yet.

About four months ago I did buy some MIDI software from him and eventually got it, but it took a long time (like over a month) to have it shipped out.

So I'm taking a neutral position right now now about Pan1K.  I'm giving him the benenfit of the doubt.  I will have to call our neighbour in the US to see if the package ever did arrive.

Here's an ironic posting from him:

Thanks man. :pint:

Fortunately, I only have the potential to get burned on a $25 A1200 case. No great loss, but it's the principle that matters. That, and the other amiga.org guys who may be getting gypped. :madashell:

I'll likely shoot over the info I have via pmail, but please don't feel obligated to do anything yet, or at all! (The offer alone is pure class, and I appreciate that.) I may hop on the bike and cruise down myself in a few weeks. Heh, it would make a nice weekend ride. I love the desert. (Question being, how much of a fight will my g/f put up before letting me go for an _entire_ weekend, LOL.)

I bought an EIDE99 adapter and an Elbox keyboard adapter off him pretty cheap.  Turns out the keyboard adapter is broken (or at least it doesn't work for me); I ended up buying a Lyra1200 instead.  If you check his sig, he ended up buying a Lyra1200 too, probably partly financed it with my contribution.  And it took forever to get to me, probably emailed him five times before an answer.  Good luck.

I won some auctions of his a few months ago, and after the auction he just disappeared, no contacts for a long time. I didn't make a payment to him, cause I was waiting for a shipping quote. In the mean time his ebay user got cancelled after a streak of negative feedbacks. Later he returned and apologised saying that he had an injury or fraction of some sort (can't remember right now). I don't know what he's up to this time, but it maybe similar.

Strange. He seemed like a nice guy.. So, why he is not banned yet? The fact that he hasn't made any public reply to the accusations suggests that he is most likely a scammer.

I have payed for an item recently - some time within the last 2 months. To keep this factual - I have contacted Pan1K through PM's and have had no reply yet. I have not seen the item yet. Perhaps there are legitmate issues, perhaps there are not. I will continue to contact through emails to see what result I can get...

Judging by his previous positive E-Bay feedback, I'd say something has happened which prevents him from fulfilling his obligations. Doesn't look like bad intent from this end of the scope.

He said about on the 17th of April that he sent my item

Guess I'll have to open a paypal dispute since he ignores my PM's and emails

@utri007 not cool we don't condone such actions.... with that said, I got a netgear pcmcia wireless off him recently, but it took awhile due to some issues he explained.  I cant confirm or deny any alligations of him being a scammer, though I thought the same when I wasn't receiving my stuff, but I did email and got a response. We are a tight community and should look out for each other but I still say dont spend more than you can afford to loose!  It sucks when you get ripped though....shouldn't happen here! :-?

Well, if he's truly injured... that's one thing, and hopefully he isn't!

We'll give it a bit more time yet before guru-666 and I come a knockin'. ;-)

If anyone hears from him, please leave an update here.

cheers
