I have to admit my Peg1 has been gathering dust for a while - about a year I think. My A1 is rarely used these days either.

Both systems are very nice though. It's just that I tend to use my Mac for just about everything these days.

At a push I'd go for OS4 over MOS although I couldn't put my finger on exactly why.

Been a MorphOS user since the 0.3 days, got a Peg II and sold my PPC A3000T. I have never regretted it even once.  MOS is by far the best Amiga system ever. I even argue its better then OS4. When 2,0 come out soon it want even be a question as to which is better.

I don't wanted to bring up the fight again. Each system will find its group. Both will have fun and thats the point.

Yes, I like MorphOS  :-)

It's a very nice, compatible (os3.x) and fast OS, very Amiga like but with it's own identity.
Here are some screenshots of my current setup. It's MorphOS 1.4.5 with the latest Ambient and MUI4.

BTW I'm selling my spare Pegasos II board (G4@1000/256MB), pictures here. If interested send me a PM.

Is version 2.0 of MorphOS guaranteed to run on the PegI and PegII boards?  I thought I had read that it would not, but that does not make sense, even if it is targeted at another platform, they should still support their previous user base.

Yes it is guaranteed. MOS 2.0 supports all Pegasos models and Efika.
Even for PuP there might be an update, but that one - if it comes -
will definitely not include new hardware support.

@ guru-666

I am MOS user since the 0.4 release. Used 0.4 a lot (had a 68040 and
0.4 was faster and many apps run more stable on 0.4 than on 3.x). Then
i got my Peg with MOS 1.0, but initially that was not too stable for
me. With the April fix things became better and since around
January/February 2003 I use it as my main OS.
MOS is my favorite OS and I never ever
regretted a single moment to have bought the Peg, but am happy to have
this lovely computer and OS.

@zylesea,

There is a lot of discussion about wanting AOS4.0 on a PPC Mac, here and on other forums.  What do the MOS coders think about porting MOS to the PPC Mac?

If I had money to BURN I would buy a PegII G4@ 1gHz, but I don't, so I will settle for MOS for pup.  It would be nice to be able to run both MorphOS2.0 and AmigaOS4.0 on my old Mac Powerbook G4.

Nice... Looks pretty snappy too. I hope 2.0 will finally come out with Efika support. I recently bought one, just in case...  ;-)

I used it on Classic and peg1 and it was very nice. You have to tweak it a little but compatibility is very good. It lets you use 68k, PowerUp and WarpOS software

@McVenco
You could connect a serial cable and see if there's any debug output.

@keropi

Boot manager? simply choose the partition in the early boot menu. It will boot without problems.

If you have doubts about how to install MOS on your classic write me to jcagigal (at) gmail (point) com and I'll help you. It's pretty easy.

Algor/Romulus is no problem to load MOS/OS4. Simply disable it pressing right or left mouse button. Be sure that you are using a modern bootmodule and a modern luciferin.

@Edpon

you can connect your amiga HDs directly. It won't be a problem. Just take care of priority or pass as argument "bootdevice=YOURMOSPARTITION"

still I believe a real bootmanager is way better than early-startup-menu.
I now have a triple-boot A4000D, OS3.9 + MOS + OS4 , but since it is a grex4000D amiga OS4 is pretty much lame at it...
