BBRV makes Amiga community walk I think?
« on: May 03, 2007, 07:01:36 PM »
Firstly, I would like to say that I am no pro or anti BBRV person. I just want to say that he have done lots to bind red and blue side. He is active and is one of the more capable persons to be able to own Amiga rights. Why? Because it seems that he is interested in the community,.. Because is active on the Amiga/MorphOS forums and because he have shown so many times that he got pation for Amiga. Why? I dont know ;)

Since 2005, I`ve been an MorphOS user and will never regret my decision of changing from thinking OS4 to MorphOS. It made my life much better, as MorphOS gave me everything that AmigaOS does.
I am no coder, but I love the way things works. Full multitasking, great looking desktop and top of all things MUI4!... Without BBRV, this wouldnt have been so strong named everywhere. It seems that the spirit is within that person I think.

So what do I want with this BBRV post? I want to tell how great this person is (as far as I think) and how much effort and time he have used to show that the community is important. Even though he might be a ghost or even a person that just writes things to troll, he is active and he tells me that Genesi wants to stay with Amiga. He shows that he is interested in participating with the community, even though I have and still have some thoughts about his views and futureviews. He gets me the impression, that if he gets Amiga rights and trademarks, he will make Amiga to a great name. Though I think a bit of BBRV as a politician sometimes, which says lots and then when he gets it all screw it up,...

..., but I dont think so. I dont know what sort of imagination or thinking you have about BBRV. But I think of him as Steve Jobs with Bill Gates vibes :) With this I want to say that he could do a lot positive for Amiga. I dont know if you remember Jim Collas. I think that BBRV is sorta person which can connect and provide all Amigans a great future, because of the passion and care! I just hope this is true.. I see what I believe,...

Conclusion to all this, .. goal is to be seen, get marked, work tougether, create something.. Not closing the potential users outside like McEwen does. He never writes to the community or gives people any spirit. I hope to see things happening soon, as Amiga/MorphOS is so much brilliant life of coders and users. I admire every person supporting this community and that I hope that BBRV or ANY other marketing sense people would or will take advantage of and give Amiga community what they want.
-* Amiga alive! *-

Michal

I think there are a lot of people (who didnt get paid ainc stylie) on this forum who might disagree with you on a few things.  Wayne being one of them. MorphOS devs for another.

Yes they have actually produced something, but he/they are just as guilty at splitting the community further, mud-slinging an generaly wining people up.

I am basicaly no fan of either ainc, BBRV, hyperion, ACK they are all guilty of emty promises.  Im still ot on ACUBE as they have yet to really dissapoint

yes, MorphOS is the best thing to happen to the amiga since well 1995....
Why we even care about INC or McEwen is beyond me!  If you want a NEW amiga like computer guess what it exists you can buy it.... so "just do it".

For those that think OS4 and some INC hardware is the only true amiga... well there is no hope for you.

If you happen tohave been working on OS4, that cool, sorry that everybody is getting screwed, consider developiing for morph os.

@JJ
there are two sides to ever argument. I'm not convinved that Waynes story is right, but I don't know.  Fact is there are alot fewer people out there that are owed money by genisi...  genisi aslo has been producing products for the community and have not been playing a shell games with there company.... The INC/McEwen story well.....

BBRV & AI did wrong when it came to paying people no doubt.  As for not paying, what can I say..when you dont have money, get sued..then what happens in court happens.  Businesses fold all the time and owe money..declare bankruptcy and leave people pissed off.  Whats done is done.
-------------------

But when it comes to Amiga, him and Raquel have a passion for it.  I sat with him once and talked about AI, Genesi, MOS etc, he's very knowledgeable and determined.  I think he did the right thing by being a hardware supplier and staying out of the OS wars so to speak.  If you get a chance to meet him in person he's a nice guy to talk to..been around for many years in the Amiga classic scene.

Seriously, set the hate aside and think about it.  Who's product is still around?  Take the blue pill, you'll like it..when the red pill is for sale again and funds are available, buy the red pill too.

Sorry you see things that way. There's very successful business above and beyond that sort of thing.

The past is the past, which strangely Amiga Inc supporters have been saying about Amiga Inc for years but in Genesi`s case. Lets bring up their past mistakes to slag them down.

Bill Buck delivers products and that is all what matters, the trio should have done the same thing instead of showing everyone how amateurish they really are.

Also the blue pill isn't for sale at the moment. Both OS4 and Morphos don't have any new hardware to run on. Sorry, but after 19 years in Amigaland, I stopped bothering about "announced" products or operating systems.

Hmmm, actually, I would say the opposite is true, at least in the small business world. (Obviously, there's no "cut and dry" formula that guarantees success, but my viewpoint is that those who conduct business with ethical standards are "on the average"  more likely to succeed. Once again, I'm talking small business here, where hopefully one can stay afloat without courts and lawyers getting involved.)

Thanks for all. I think that passion and bussines leads to victory. And especially when it comes to be active on forums and blogg.

They have both done bad things, but BBRV is standing on his feets it seems. He contribute and shows that he is dedicated. Thats what I like about him.

BBRV is a Personal Attack.

The Personal Attack did nothing but divide the community in a time when we should have come together (4 years ago now?). In hindsight (and I was against this) we should have gone x86 but no-one could see through the red/blue mist at the time..

He arrives, distributes his Profanity, winds everyone up and then buggers off to watch the turmoil.

Do NOT trust this man... I know everyone is clutching at straws to get some hardware and an OS released... I feel the same, but following this man is not the way.

Let Ainc & Hyperion have their day in court, come what may.. and take it from there... I don't like it, you don't like it.. but it's the way it is.. and WE can't change that.

Just don't let this flim flam man into your head....

Regards

Sky
