I thinking about the situation of the battle between ainc and Hyperion. First of all why act ainc in the recent week like a real company? (selling names, renew the website, planning new hardware, etc) In the last 5-6 years they do nothing, so why now? At the second glance the new "amiga" hardware is an all in one miracle for us. SATA, DDR2 memory etc. Exept the graphics card, but i think in the big brainstorming they just simply don't know pci-ex(press) and simple pci card are different ones. So they wrote pci gfx card.
I think all of this is about the lawsuit. They want to become the nice guy in the eyes of the court. (The firts question of the judge will be to ainc, what does your company do? )
So i think there will be no new hardware from ainc, I don't expect from any.

I think you're right and that these are basically pertinent questions.

My feeling (and it is mainly just a feeling) is that Amiga Inc wants to quietly get on with selling the intent games and does NOT want a viable AmigaOS desktop market or any part of this community.

I think they will only ever come out of their slumber when OS4 threatens to move a step closer to being sold. They then awake purely to squash it.

I am pretty sure they chose ACK as their partner because from the 'proof' we have all seen it looks like total vapourware. The plan is to 'kill' Hyperion and then watch in silence as ACK struggles then fails to deliver. Job done!

I bet if by some miracle ACK was able to follow through, Amiga Inc would then 'awaken' and find some excuse to sue ACK.

Of course we have yet to hear from ACube. Would they agree with Bill McFleecy's statement that Hyperion willfully scuppered a deal for Acube to partner with Amiga. Why would Acube collude with Hyperion to do this?

May someone should talk to Pentti Kouri, maybe we all have a wrong picture from him, maybe he do not really know what is going on with AInc.

I read that has has many risk business like AInc., too many to check them all...

I think Bill Mc Evil has nothing done in the last years, only living from the money he got from the investors, sometimes making a big deal (like with the ice hockey league) or a very big winning game like the motor cycle. ;-)

AInc will be supported by redsmith.com worldwide, but Pentti Kouri is paying the laywers, not Bill Mc Evil Knevel.

In all of this speculation I wonder about something.  Why does it seem that AInc is constantly trying to kill anything Amiga?  I hadn't thought of this before, until this whole lawsuit against Hyperion came up.

Am I wrong in thinking that is how it seems with AInc?

in the end we (or...OS4 fans) lose.  If they were to get all of OS4 sources, they dont have anyone that is capable of maintaining/updating that code.  Yea they can hire someone..but will they pay them? (we wont go there..history repeats itself).

When last year i bought an 1200 with ppc i told myself that i never will be buy a "modern" amiga, because it is simply no reason to buy. No software no support, and finally it does not help in business. In the meantime i got the fever and want to own one. When sam+os4 appeared, i think it will be only month to do that, but now one day to another i think i will turn away this system once and forever. I will wait only for the appearence of os4 to classic machines. :cry:

@floyd: Ok, you're right, but that will be very stupid board. And to find a good new pci card is an impossible mission for most of us i think.

PCI Video board hard to find? Cmon. Try searching "millenium pci" on ebay. PCI vid cards are easy to find and usually cost a few bucks. Ive got at least 10 vid cards in a box. The thrift shops that have lots of computer crap usually have boxes of random odd cards, always guaranteed to have a pci based one. In the computer shops, they still sell PCI cards. I bought a radeon 9880 something or other AGP card a year ago at compusa and they had a PCI version of it right next to it.

@koaftder: I mentioned new pci card not used. And try to imagine the happy family which is buying the first computer of the little children.(yeah amiga x) Everything is look promising, but when the husband ask about the vga card the answer is: oh that is a light years ahead revolutionary pci card and tested for a million times before, just for you. It is witout box, because for the better price. And why looks so dirty? It is not , it is a factory feature.

Ya... and let's say you manufacture hardware stuff like say... a new Amiga computer... and you just want to buy a thousand video chisets for NEW boards.

Try ordering your new chips from any manufacturer or distributor... goooooooood luck!  :lol:

If the system doesn't support any decent modern video hardware, why not just use integrated video?  You've always got all those glorious, free PCI slots to keep you FUTURE PROOF!
