Trustworthy seller?
« on: May 02, 2007, 08:15:56 AM »
Hi folks.

I've won an auction on eBay and even paid for my item on the 15th of april, but have yet to see my stuff from the seller. Since there's such a huge amount of knowledge here, I thought I'd ask if you know about the seller 'retrohuncho' from Australia? He's had 1 bad comment out of almost 300, so it looks ok to me.

I've paid for the item and have only gotten one response from him via email. Computer problems was the reason he stated for being late. And he missed the delivery date he stated in his mail to me.

Link to my won item:

Link to the sellers page:

If anyone here knows something that could put me at ease or split my hairs on end, please let me know :-D

Thanks!

UPDATE: Seems the item has been sent, at least that's what I just received an email about from the seller.
Regards,

Michael Englyst

I figure that the shipping from australia to Denmark is going to take awhile?  I know that when a friend sent me a C64 keyboard from Australia, it literally took around 2 weeks, and this package was small...

Who knows, give it a week and a half more, but if there is still nothing, then definately get a hold of him again. :-)

make sure he mailed it AIRMAIL. Otherwise you're talking about months like Keropi said. I bought from him once, terrible packaging, but honest guy. He'll send it to you, bugger him and ask when he has sent it. Maybe something happened and he couldn't send it. for example it's now golden week in japan, all government offices are closed and I couldn't take a piss at a public toilet if I wanted to. omg I have a headache.

Thanks for the input. :)

After I posted I got an email from him where he apologized for now answering promptly and wanted to let me know it was sent on the 23rd of April with airmail, insured with tracking. I wanted to make sure it didn't get lost.

So now I soon have a nicely functioning A1200 with a 68030+FPU, 128 MB RAM, 60 GB HD  and PCMCIA NIC... Nice! :-D

Not bad.  Reminds me of the Amiga setup I once had... Only with no NIC, a 800MB drive, and no FPU.  :-D  :-)

Still was a blast to dialup at 33.6k lol.

Congratulations. Just a FYI; you could have gotten an accelerator closer, and cheaper as well.

He's a solid dude, lives not too far from me, we've traded via ebay on a couple of items.

Ditto above comments on long shipping times, some poor sod in the States waited 4 MONTHS for some videos I sent AIRMAIL.....

@ shillard

Great to hear. :-)

I'm always a little nervous shelving out money to people on eBay that I have no knowledge of, but it has gone well so far.

Another source of being upbeat: My Adobe CS3 Web Premium package should arrive tomorrow. w00t! Can't use Amiga's for everything, even though I have a few + a C64 and a ZX-80 :-P
