Severe resurgence in interest?
« on: April 23, 2007, 02:06:05 PM »
Could someone (Wayne?) give statistics for activity on A.org over the past month?  I swear the number of active users keeps travelling up, and there has been a large number of first posts.

Is activity increasing?

Is membership increasing?

Maybe Amigans share a 'collective mind', and we can sense that something is about to happen and are collecting to share in the spectacle. :-)

Not enough historic information, and not as cool as the one that used to be on the left side-panel saying how many new users joined last week, month, etc., and you got more stats if you clicked.  I miss that tool.

That's cool and creepy all at the same time. Suddenly I feel like one of the collective hive. So who's bringing the beer and pizza? Every one seems to have the popcorn already. :-)

We are the Amiga, resistance is futile.

Sorry. I HAD to say it!

Not a definitive statistic by a long-shot, but periodically over the past couple years, I've checked for any good Amiga systems for sale on ebay.  It seems like, right now, there are very few systems available.  Maybe all the good ones have been snatched up, and are (hopefully) in use somewhere??

It's just because we (Amiga users from the past) are hitting that age-group where we long for any aspect of our youth :-) I'm guessing most Amiga users are in the 25-35 year range.

I guess there are many of us hitting the 30 year mark these days and 30 is retro "I miss being a kid" nostalgia time! :-)

As one of the new members I must confess it is all a bit weird and I did actually feel "something in the air". It was particularly related to Amiga things and not to any other old computer I've owned so I don't think it's a pure nostalgia/retro business. I think it's the PS3 thing. That would rock my boat.
Are we there yet?

I've actually had an Amiga since May '95 when I bought my 1200 off some kid in Notts who'd moved off it - probably cos his XCopy broke ;-)
