Help Please!
« on: April 20, 2007, 02:58:28 PM »
Oh boy did I make a mistake last night, I was trying to reinstall OS 3.1 onto another drive on my SCSI attached to my Cyberstorm PPC because I have found that I am having issues just like User Ross1 who apparently has almost the same setup as me and running SFS instead of FFS as a file system is causing problems. In the prosess of going into the SCSI tools to turn off the bootable checkbox on the one drive and on on the second and then rebooting the Amiga I realized that now neither "System" partitions are bootable???
and because I am using a Cyberstorm accelerator and now when I boot it comes up with the lovely insert workbench disc I cant get back into the SCSI toos to turn it back on as the Cyberstorm requires the 060 lib's and the workbench disc's dont have it.
What do i do?

Please help me...  :cry:

Do you have a 3.5 boot disk? If so boot from that (and your 3.5 CD) and you can then use HDToolBox to re-enable the Bootable flag.

Thanks for your reply moto, I remember making one but have not found it as of yet. :( I will keep looking tonight.
I take it there is no way to go back to FFS from SFS without reformatting the drive?

@tonyvdb:

You don't need 68060 libs. Problem is the presence of 68040.library, but this is only contained on the Install disk. Just boot from the Workbench disk and you are fine. The processor will run at half speed, though. For full speed you need 68060.library.

It's running SetPatch that causes a Guru without the proper libs. If you boot with no startup sequence and assign ENV: to RAM:, that should be enough to get HDToolbox or similar operational to retick the bootable flag.

Well, it seems that I am only able to get to the AmigaDos screen can I fix my problem from there? and if so what do I type. I am sure my workbench disk is bad as when i put it in the AmigaDos screen is as far as it boots to.

EDIT: OK I got in. Now my question is how do I get my new SCSI hard drive on the cyberstorm 060 to boot into WB 3.1 without it crashing, what Libs do i need on that disk before restarting my Amiga?
