mp3 saver for aminetradio?
« on: April 20, 2007, 07:54:17 AM »
I would like to record the mp3 stream from anr to disk(mp3 player).
The only saver available is .wave now?
It's easy to convert with secondspin but seems a step too much.
Is there a mp3 saver available to record it direct to disk?

Reason for that probably is because of CPU power... Would be difficult for the Amiga to save directly to an mp3 while its streaming.

Actually, it shouldn't.  If stream is already MP3 encoded, it should be (at least theoretically) sufficient enough to save the stream directly to disk, without re-encoding it.

Don't know any apps that do this for Amiga, though.
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

Tunenet has an MP3 saver, if I remember correctly.

ANR saves MP3 when reading MP3 streams, it also splits file depending on the id3tag received.

Just set path in prefs and press the record button...

It is running on a pegasos here.
And on my amiga4000 also btw.
Set path in prefs?
Only path mentioned in ANR is the path for the .wave saver.
Can't see any other path anywhere?

I have recorded web radio with my A4000/060 using ANR. Working very good! I thought the recorded file was mp3 ? The files I have saved is not too big.

Never set any setting for the record though, just hitting record ;)

@krize

They are mp3, it saves the stream which is mp3 itself.

The location and configuration of the option is a bit different depending on the version of ANR.

Sorry about that. Should have known it is already downloaded as an mp3 file lol. It was very early in the morning I think when I thought it couldn't do it.  :-D

Yeah, its the best player and got the best interface for webradio
also!

Only thing I miss is two plugins -

A cover plugin (show the jpeg that
is in the playing directory).

A .cue sheet plugin - .cue is used for mixed cd`s, to not have the gaps between..
