It's too bad this system has a custom chipset, otherwise it would make a way cool Amiga :-)

I wonder how high it will go...

It is a amiga compitable computer that i believe was mainly intended to use with video toaster. It sadly was insanely expensive as well and lacked the custom chipset.

Interesting. I'm interested in what chipset it actually used, but I won't be so lazy to expect you to tell me :-) Hello Google.....

I remember that it was faster than any Amiga (060/GFX card) when it was released. There is no custom chipset but it is great for system friendly applications.

If I had the space and funds I would get one, there are not so many true Amiga clones around and this would be a unique computer to own.

They do not sell for that much on ebay.de, I think they hit 500 dollars, but I am unsure..

The Draco was an 'almost' Amiga clone, it could duplicate much of the custom chipset's video related functions but it wasn't a complete clone as it had no CIA or emulation thereof.  So, it couldn't run some Amiga stuff.  It wasn't a video Toaster either, it did many of the same things but didn't actually have Newtek hardware inside.

Draco did have a faster ZIII bus, I think they called it Rastabahn.  It has ths Zorro connector but I'm not sure if it could do other ZIII cards besides its own custom ones.  Interestingly, one of these cards was a firewire port card, having one tiny four pin firewire socket on it.  Draco themselves claim to have 'lost' the source code for the driver to it, so sadly, no firewire outside the DracoMotion world :-(

Someone more knowledgeable of Draco hardware would be welcome to correct any errors here.  But, I just remember wanting one real bad, and not being able to afford it..

HUH? work with the Video Toaster?? not really sure about that..

However it is a NON linear video editing box ..that can run Amiga Apps.
And if it was in the state I would bid in a heart beat.

Hmm, why can't I find this auction when I search for it on eBay.com or eBay.nl? Is it because it says it's only shipping to Poland?

Probably. You should revise your auction and change the shipping destinations to make sure it's visible to as many people as possible.

The Draco have two standard Zorro cards inside, Macrosystem's Video Lab Motion and Toccata, so I think the Zorro bus is almost standard.

Wow. You almost never see a Draco appearing on the market, and all of a sudden there are 2 more:

http://computer-hardware.marktplaats.nl/commodore/88869347-2x-draco-video-workstation-060-bigtower.html

These 2 are located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The pictures show no sideplates, but the seller told me that they are, so the towers are complete.

So, if anyone is interested in these... :-)
