Clone-A demonstration in Aachen
« on: March 31, 2007, 07:57:12 PM »
There was supposed to be a Clone-A demonstration in Aachen (Germany) today. So I was wondering if anyone took pictures or got news? Did someone manage to crash the clone? :-D

First photos in this thread (A1k.org, German forum).
Apparently everything worked except for one demo. Still not clear if this was only an erroneous disk though.

That does look nice'n hacky - I like it, reminds me a bit of Lorraine. It seems they still have to integrate everything into one FPGA, the shown setup would be very expensive.

But Minimig looks wayy more elegant.

I was *REALLY* hoping that this meant that Jens was also re-releasing custom chips as FPGAs.   :-(  It would be nice to eventually know that you could get CIA, Gary, Denise, etc. replacements.

I have an A500 project I keep meaning to do, I'll probably buy a spare A500, just to have the extra chips, since they're so hard to find now.

That looks so, so sweet.  I would so buy a Clone-A (or similar) project if it had the ability to assign more chipmem and a way to fit an accelerator (not big on old games, sorry) :-)
