Blizzard PPC 603e+ /160MHz
« on: March 26, 2007, 11:02:39 AM »
Hello,

I have bought on ebay a Blizzard PPC 603e+ /160MHz with no ram.And I putted into my A1200 but when I type cpu and showconfig by shell it says that has 68040 processor.
On the board it's stated that is a Blizzard PPC603e+ /160MHz and I even tried the program showinfo but int only appear the 68040.
What's going on?
What to do to check if PPC is running?

Many Thanks

You need a newer program to check if it is active.

ShowConfig has no clue of PPC CPU. Not even the AmigaOS 3.9 one.

You can try identify.library or WhichAmiga.

Hello,

I tried Scout but when I click on SYSTEM it says at all the voices identify.library required.
I installed the MUI.
Do I have install something else to see the PPC processor recongnized or there is a better program showing it?

many thanks

you need at least 4mb of ram to work your ppc board. (if you don't put any memory in it.)

Anyway try sysspeed 2.6 (on aminet). Its got plenty of ppc test, so you can check your board too.

Thx!

Which Amiga by Piru (Harry Sintonen) is definitely the best! Congrats coder!

And I wanna thank you very much!

According to Scout suggested by AMIGAZ (thanks to you too) it says that requires the identify.library.Where Should I have to install them?

Thanks to you too derringer2,I gave a look to sysspeed 2.6 but I was to hurry to check ifthe board I have bought was really working!

So thank you everybody for answering me but....

A little help and I'll be gratefull!

1) Do the PPC need some software to run application?

2) I don't know I to install the PPClibrary ,on the CD in bundle I cannot find any installation tool of this.

3) And what about Warp OS.At the moment I am running OS3.1 and do not wanna install OS3.9 right now.Do you have any idea how to provide me OS3.1 with Warp OS?

Many Thanks AmigoS

I don't try it on os3.1 . To work properly you should copy ppclibrary and other libraries to SYS:libs .(to your system drives's libs drawer.) You probably need the latest setpatch, and ppclibemu or other util to run WARP OS and PUP softwares in the same time. ( Ok maybe not the same time but you don't need to reboot.)
In os3.9 there is an utility in sys:prefs to terminate the ppc card to run warops utils. I dont' know is it running or neccesery under 3.1 .

IIRC PowerUp software runs out of the box. You dont have to install anything.

Just download WarpUp archive from Aminet.
