got this A500 last week. it's as close to 'brand-new' as i've seen, pretty nice really. what's the story with this model though? i haven't seen too many with this badge, is this a newer or older model? one of the last maybe?

The badge isn't rare, my half-ECS, KS 1.3 A500 had it, too.

Mine's got that badge as well (yellowed beyond salvation, though). Manufactured in 1990, I think. Had a 1.3 ROM to start, but there's a Kickstart switcher in there now. Not sure of the motherboard revision, but I suspect it's a later one.

These 500s came out just after the Amiga 3000 hit the market around mid 1990.
Only a few months later, early 1991, the 600 came out and replaced it.
In 1992 the 600 was replaced by the 1200 and the 3000 was replaced by the 4000.

My A500 bought new in late 1989 looked like that. Of course, the warranty seals were gone fairly quick. :-D
@eslapion
Except the Amiga 600 released in 1992 and was never "replaced" by the 1200.
