Boogiegail strikes again!!!
« on: March 21, 2007, 03:33:01 AM »
I guess I should have known better than to try to purchase something from her on Ebay. I sent 260.00 for a 4000D motherboard with daughterboard, screws, and plastic shield. I sent the money and waited almost 4 weeks and still no motherboard, I did email a couple of times and did get a response that she was too busy and couldn't keep up with the orders. Hey this isn't my fault I always pay within hours of a completed auction and only expect fair service in return after I pay for it.

I did file a claim with Paypal and got a response right away from Boogiegail with a refund. I then left neutral feedback stating that item never shipped but did get a full refund.

I am just a little miffed since I was looking forward to getting my Mirage Pro up and running with this board since my little deal with the Belkin 'Y' adapter that burned up my original motherboard. I am certainly looking at either buying another 4000D complete or 4000D for parts. If I can't find one I will probably start selling off what I do have that is good yet since I am getting frustrated with trying to find replacement parts. I currently have 3 4000T's all standard and a Mirage Pro with 4000D motherboard shot. I also have a CSMKIII 060 50mhz with 128mb of ram, and Prometheus PCI board.

I also purchased from Elbox an eFlash 2mb, Cocolino PS/2 adapter, a fast ethernet 10/100, and a 5.25" to 3.5" adapter to put a floppy drive in a 4000T.

I have dealt with Boogiegail over the years.  In the past I had no problems.  Recently I won a board from her that never got here.  She was hard to reach but did end up responding.  The item was lost in the mail and Boogiegail ended up refunding my money in full.  So I have had a similar experience but would do business with her again because I have had many good transactions in the past and she did end up making this last one right in the end.  She just needs to do better on responding to complaints sooner.  Jule

I know people have had both good and bad experience with Boggiegail, this was my first dealing with her and it wasn't very good she claimed that her shipping had gotten behind because she was busy with work, etc...

The point I am making is that if she doesn't have the time to ship something that is bid on she has no business putting it up for auction. I noticed several items go up for bid after my email from her which tells me she did have time to ship my item had she waited to post new items so I don't see that as a valid excuse. This has been my first negative experience with Ebay or anyone I have purchased from on the net.

Yeah, I would never buy something from a "too busy" seller!

Thanks for the warning.

@amesie2:

if it was a negative experience, you should have given negative feedback. The money back is your right, not hers.

Anyways, good luck with your Amiga, but before that, I wanted to ask you: could you explain the problem with the Belkin "Y" adapter or whatever item that burned the motherboard?

Don't want to have me such a problem either :-)

Thanks

Bleh, that must of been the motherboard that she bought from us for a mere $136 then. Hell, we even waited for our money. She got damn lucky..

Well, I'm not going to post my whole story yet but I told Boogiegail in a message last night that if I did not get resolution immediately that I was going to file a complaint, leave negative feedback, and let the Amiga community know about it.  I've had good luck with that person in the past but currently $435 of my money is tied up with that person.    :madashell:

@drewz21

I had gone through paypal for the resolution claim which was taken care of the same day by boogiegail.
I wouldn't wait any longer file the claim with paypal if that is what you used and hopefully you will get resolution quickly.

Guys, NEVER hesitate to leave negative feedback on Ebay. It is what other people go by to check if they're dealing with a jerk or not. Obviously this gal here is not a good seller. Even though she "makes it right in the end" because you keep on pushing, think of all the people with less balls that you that didn't complain loud enough and got screwed over by her.

Way back before ebay was even popular, I remember exchanging a old Moog synthesizer for a modern one to a guy from NY. We discussed over the internet quite a number of times, and it seemed legit enough. We agreed to ship out synths on the same date. Obviously he didn't. I asked for the tracking number for the package a number of times and he never replied. Since I had his address and NY is only an 8 hours drive from here, I decided to present my cute little adorable self at his place. Turns out the guy was like 14, and his dad didn't want to ship the synth until they received mine. I did get my synth in the end and I still own the thing and use it all the time.

I learned something that day... I learned that I trust people too easily. I'm as honest as they come and as a result, I tend to believe every one is the same. But they're not. For all the jerks like me out there who still believe there is good in the world, we need to have those negative comments.

Well, I just opened a claim on PayPal so I hope I get my money back soon.  It's really a shame as I wanted another A4000D and this one seemed in great shape and had a CD-Writer which I did not have for my Amigas yet.  It was this auction.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=011&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=320081987462&rd=1&rd=1

And yes, I guess I'll have to leave negative feedback although I really hate to do so.  I like to try and give a person every chance I can.

I did some checking on Boogiegail just for my own purposes and found that her name is Thyra G. Runion. I also have a phone number and address for her but upon calling the phone number between 3-16-07 and today 3-21-07 it has been changed which I'm guessing she probably has moved.

I hope those of you that do have disputes against her get them resolved without too much hassle. I don't think she really has a place in the Amiga community regardless of what she has to offer since half the time it doesn't show up or it is very late.

I see she has a few electronic items offered at BIN for around 4,000.00 wow I would hate to fork out that kind of money and not get the merch.!

I maybe should have left negative feedback which I would have done but she did respond to my claim rather quickly of course I did have to file a claim against her first before action was taken.

I dealt with this eBayer myself in 2006. Got all my Amiga stuff but it did take a while to arrive. I didn't mind since classic Amigas aren't going anywhere very fast anyway.

As long as the eBayer communicates and eventually ships the material, I'm usually ok.

I even had a guy claim he was in the hospital with a hole in the head. His hole must of repaired itself at some point because I got the item eventually.

What can you do?

@drewz21:

she's already aware that the community knows (she's posted on here before about, guess what? similar issues). But it's still good to "remind" her of this fact, so that her sources of suckers dwindles...

Good luck with your filing, let us know if you get your money back
