Getting Mac, need to know more about Boot Camp.

Or shall we call it concentration camp consider what it's used for. ;)

 Ok, so what I would like to know is if Bootcamp can in any way be used to boot up AROS, or BeOS or something to that effect, or if it strictly limits you to Winblows.

 Also under emulation, how well would Windows run on one of those Mac Mini's with a 1.8Ghz Dual Core CPU and 1Gb or RAM?

 I've seen classic GL games like Unreal and DuesEx run on a Mac under emulation and it ran well, I am just curious if the 1.8Ghz model could pull that off?

Due to a problem with GRUB (the AROS bootloader software), AROS won't boot in Bootcamp... but pretty much anyother OS will... An Sonic's recent work on AROS should free AROS from the custom version of Grub we currently use... so expect AROS to work some time soon...

Emulation?  None needed, just use a VM like Parallels... that will run any x86 OS at ful speed, except with respect to GFX... so 3D games are going to hurt a bit.

Should run, but won't be brilliant....

Will run fine under Boot Camp, but not at all under Parallels as it doesn't support 3D acceleration.

VMWare has hardware GFX acceleration and Parallels are working on it :) Which is nice.

But VMWare doesn't run under MacOS X. I hope Parallels implement hardware acceleration soon so I can play Eve in Parallels and ditch Boot Camp.

I've used my Mac mini intel to run BootCamp with XP since it first came out.  Works like a charm....fastes Windows PC I've ever used.   Installed Amiga Forever 2006 and it runs just dandy!  It's great having a Mac/Windows/Amiga.  The best of all worlds.  (But then I once wrote an AmigaWorld article about building the ultimate business machine with the Amiga and a Bridecard and AMax. I guess I've reversed engineered that machine with BootCamp)

Haven't tried parallels since, BootCamp was free!

Quite right, under Boot camp everything Windows is native and you get full native performance.
