Is this a C64 or Amiga mouse?

Auction says it's a C64 mouse but it looks identical to the mouse I had with my first A500.

It´s the mouse suuplied with all A500:s.. And as far as I know, also the A2/3000...

But I guess it works on a C64 as well?

It is probably the Commodore 1351 mouse (used for GEOS)- looked identical to the A500 mouse but incompatible with an Amiga.

C= PCs (PC45-III et al) even used a bus mouse that looked like the A500/A2000 one - dunno how compatible they were to Amiga or C64. But I'm fairly sure they had a long plug.

My A3k came with a pregnant mouse. ;-)

There should be a model number sticker on the bottom of the mouse.  Send the seller an Ebay message asking him/her for this info.

They looked pretty much identical from what i recall.. I believe there was two versions of the c64 mouse though, one being compitable with the amiga and the other older version behaving more like a joystick than a mouse.

If memory serves, yes there were two versions of the C64 mouse, but niether were really the same as an Amiga mouse.  I recall there being a program that would allow the use of the C64 mouse on an Amiga.  I used to know what the difference was...  Dang old age!

or just skip it all, buy a cocolino and a wireless mouse like I did  =)  That 3rd button is nice, I use it to flip thru screens.

@Opus
Except that won't work on a C64...

@Thread
Thanks for all the info. Looks like it will work with my C64.
