Hi. would like to know if a Panasonic QuadSpeed cd-rom  PCMCIA card Model no KXL-D740 would work with an A1200, or is the driver's that will be the problem, saw it on ebay.

Not just the drivers. The CD-ROM may not work on the A1200's PCMCIA port, period.
