How to enhance WB 1.3

Hi

I just get GVP HD8+, I connected it to my a500 and installed OS wb 1.3.

I haven't had a500 with hd ealier, so I 've forget how ugly and limited it is.

Is there any programs to enhance it ? There is plenty prorams to enhance wb2  or newer.

Yes upgrade your Kickstart ROM and install the corresponding version of Workbench.

I would like to continue using 1.3 rom

Any hints left ?

Well if you own a license for an additional 2.x or 3.x ROM then you could softkick a ROM image which will make your A500 act as though it has that ROM version installed. I'm not sure how easy it is to do that on an A500.

I've just looked from aminet and found nothing, surely there must be some kind of system enchangements to wb 1.3

This one works fine with 1.3 on an A500 as long as you have at least 1MB of memory. You will still need to obtain the ROM files yourself, because they're obviously not included.

I don't know what you mean by "enchange". Are you looking to upgrade your KS/WB version without replacing the KS ROM, or are you looking for system enhancements which run under 1.3?

Try and pick up a fredfish CD (the one that came with the CDTV would be great) and have a look through that.
There are lots of silly things to make 1.3 look better including things like copper bars as the background (those are the HAM 4096 colour bars like found on uridium2 and other games) you can add the tracking eye's and all that stuff too.
Dont know of any icon enhancements for 1.3 though, although you can make some real nice icons with the four colours if you wanted, I remember putting a disk in once and this massive disk icon came up, it was about 500% larger than the normal one.
But anyway PD is your friend

Couldn't get it to work I put it to ss before setpatch

Result is guru

I would like to improve 1.3, or atleast I woun't remove 1.3 rom

I've some PD cds put, moust of them are for a1200 too new, have to look at them

Make sure the ROM file you are using is specific to the A500 not another model of Amiga or it won't work.

There used to be a program called 8 color workbench or somthing like that. I believe it was the same tool used to make Compute!s Amiga Gazette look so nice. It was available on one of there disks I think.
