Perfect Amiga Accessory???
« on: February 28, 2007, 02:57:03 AM »
Just purchased what might be the ultimate Amiga travel accessory.  The Dodge Nitro mini SUV 4wd has a rear seat TV with a 115volt power outlet and composite with stereo audio inputs in the rear of the center floor console.  The perfect accessory for my CD32, or A600, don't you think?

I never thought I would buy another U.S. made car, but this Dodge is very solid feeling and fun to drive.  In fact, the Nitro is so much fun, and this one is for my wife, I am going to sell my Toyota Sequoia Limited and buy another Nitro for myself.  Of course it doesn't hurt that I am able to buy it at only $500 over the dealer's cost because he is a friend of mine.  I want the six speed manual transmission instead of the automatic the wife has.  I want full control of those 210hp, as my only complaint with my wife's car is that it is a little sluggish.  Ahhhhhhh, that new car leather smell is wonderful!
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

That Dodge Nitro is actually made by the Jeep division.  I'd've kept the Toyota.  What does Consumer Reports annual book rate Jeeps vs. Toyotas re.: quality??

I base my car purchases on the paintjob and how cute the antenna ball is.  :-P

Watch out for that six speed manual, there are bad reports about them over here - a friend has gone through two already in his jeep.

That's a *mini* SUV?!?! Sorry but nobody in an urban area needs a car that big. And I'd hate to see how big the full size ones are!

Isn't that because non-European people usually can't drive stick?

Well, I'm non European, and I drive a stick shifter pretty well.  I'm also not impressed with trucks for personal/personnel city transport.  Hardly an elegant solution.
Good good study, day day up!

Think of the high fuel costs that would stop you buying that PowerUP card you always dreamt of...

Better get a SMART car!

Whoah, one of these dawgs?

It's a really good looking car, although not quite my style. :)  I'm more of a "rally person" (being a codriver and everything), so I swing towards "very manual" cars, if you see what I mean.  Clutch, stick shift, differentials, no TCS, ABS or any of that fancy-schmancy stuff :)

I'm getting a new car this summer too.  But as a family man, I probably have to go for something like an Audi Quattro, maybe the turbocharged A3.  That baby sure can do some sideways tight turns, too.

But to stay on subject, I'd probably go for the CD32.  No keyboard or mouse, just a couple of pads you can stick in the seat pocket.
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

No, it's just the new 6 speed manuals are crap.
I think you'll find that most people in Australia can drive a manual and do it well.

Bleh that thing is a compact compared to the Cadillac Escalades jacked up full size monster trucks people have in my area. Now this is what I would be expect people to be driving around our town soon (BTW I can drive a manual like it was a toy car)

How do you drive on the "proper" side of the road, when the first "automatic wagon" was created here?  ;-)

Rubbish. The first gasoline-powered automobile was created by Karl Benz in Germany in 1885. An American is not credited for creating an automobile until George Selden in 1886.

[EDIT]Corrected the date which made me look somewhat foolish [/EDIT]
