Just in case this is of interest to anybody...........
I've been using 'Pinnacle Studio 8' to capture music videos directly from the Sky TV music channels for the last few months and adjusting the quality so that they will play in my Amigas. But I've been wanting to play nice quality videos in my Nokia N70 mobile phone as well. The N70 captures its own video footage in .mp4 so it was a case of finding a simple program that could duplicate the video scale, bitrate and frames per second etc etc.
Anyway, I found this great FREE program called 'Super' last week. You can get it from here:-
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html You can just duplicate my settings in the screenshot below and drag and drop an AVI or MPEG file to where it says "DROP A VALID MULTIMEDIA FILE HERE". Then a three and a half minute MPEG2 video of 150MB will convert to a nice .mp4 file of about 7MB. This is barely double the size of an audio only MP3 file of course. You then just need to get it into your phone via Bluetooth or using a card reader :-)
I'm currently experimenting with increasing the frames/sec and bitrate as I'm not sure if the N70 has an 030, 040 or 060
