Im curious to see how far back some people go with Amigas and computers in general . I got my A500 back in Nov 1987 . No past computers , Amiga was bought cause it was faster , cheaper and looked more appealing than other computers at the time . I was only 9 at the time and it was for my edumecaton

* First use of lungs, eyes, brain and other bodily functions: 1977
* First use of computer: 1981/1982, Philips Videopac and Colecovision consoles (from a cousin and a friend next door). So at the age of 5 I guess.
* First use of a non-game computer: around 1984/1985: Commodore 64 and Atari ST at family/friends homes.
* First saw an Amiga: A1000 for half an hour at a friend's house somewhere in 1985. I stood in awe hearing the SAY program :-)
* First computer used which my parents owned: a Philips P2000-T (1986), followed 3 years later by an XT (a Headstart Explorer, with flip-top keyboard - was a pretty cool machine actually :-))
* First use of an Amiga: A500 at a friend's house, played a lot of games, somewhere late 1989/early 1990.
* First Amiga I owned (and also first computer I owned ever): A500 in 1990, around april/may.

I've been using computers for some 25 years now, and I've owned and used Amiga's for around 18 years.

i have owned a timex sinclair, ti99-4A, and c64

i was only an active amiga user from 91-99 when i used my a500 exclusively. prior to 91, i didn't know what an amiga was. i bought 2 a500's one for my dorm and one at home for weekend playing :) in 94 i bought a cd32 game machine which was awesome to me. however lack of ntsc compatible games left me less than impressed(though i do own quite a lot of pal games for it.)

in 99 i had difficulty finding new games that would work on my a500 and the intenet only functioned if i turned off pics. since there were no new systems being produced i bought a compaq pc then a 2 gateway pc's. in the years since i have built 4-5 pc's for friends and family(2 for myself)

but still i yearn to use amiga os again since i liked that interface better than windows.
The only stupid question is a question not asked.

Win•dows: n. A thirty-two bit extension and graphical shell to a sixteen-bit patch to an eight-bit operating system originally coded for a four-bit microprocessor which was written by a two-bit company that can\'t stand one bit of competition.

let's see:

1982 School's Commodore PET.
About the same time I bought myself a Vic 20,
not much after I bought myself a C64.

1986 I bought myself A Commodore Amiga 1000.

1990's stayed with Amiga, upgrading and such.

1999/2000 I finally followed the mass of idiots and bought a windoze box.

2007 Amiga 3000T still running fine, windoze box has been replaced 4x

early 80s: Atari 2600

84/85-ish: MSX of a friend

late 80s: -Amiga of some sort at a friend of my brother (I seem to remember playing F/A-18 Interceptor, but I dare not trust that memory, it might be a later constructed memory =).
-C64 of a friend

91: A500 1.3

94-ish: A1200 3.0

2000: PC Win98->2k->XP

Not very long..

1980 - born
1984 - see computers for the first time
1985 - see one of Finlands first A1000s
1985-1986 - got my first C-64 around that time
1989 - first A500
1996 - Pentium 120
1998 - first A4000

And there end the milestones, after 1996 I started accumulating all sorts of Commodores and Amigas and PCs..

Seriously, that A500 was my only machine until 1996 - didn't even have a hard drive, only one external floppy, 512/512k RAM Action Replay 3 and KS 2.04. :-)
