Hi everyone.
After a long hiatus from the Amiga world (enforced somewhat by a leaky battery and an A3000 motherboard), I am back, and discovering things I though I had (and also have) forgotten.
So, long story short, the A3000 is now the proud owner of a brand new motherboard, and all is working fine. I installed 3.1 again last night and all is well.
So, I got myself an OS3.9 CD from SoftHut (awesome Amiga dealer - very helpful), and here is where the problems begin.
I have an external SCSI CD-ROM (actually a burner), but I don't have the cable to go from the A3000's on board SCSI controller (being the DB25 to large centronics cable). I did have one, but who knows where it has gone.
I did have an A4091 SCSI controller lying around (as you do), and installed this fine. I have the latest buster (rev 11) in this machine too.
If I run any utility that scans the hardware, the CD-ROM can be found on 2nd.scsi.device (the A4091), but I can't mount a cd onto the workbench.
Assuming I needed a driver to do this, I looked on the net, and came across a driver in dms format on the 'Amiga Hardware Database' site. All looks good but I cannot for the life of me expand this dms file.
I have a vague recollection that it is a diskmasher file, and it expands out onto a floppy disk, being an image of the original.
So, can anyone point me to a way to expand the DMS. I tried Directory Opus but no good. I have no issues with having to buy some software from a developer etc if necessary.
Sorry for the long 'story' but I am trying to give everyone a picture of what I am seeing.
BTW, there is a working cybervision card in this machine too.
Thanks one and all. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Regards.
