Its not enough anymore to just update the horrible web page of Amiga Inc anymore...

Amiga Inc have not done one thing right, they have been actually good to not be able to make any money of their IP.. Extreme waste of IP, userbase, etc....

@All In Doubt:

Let me make it simple for all you Blinded by your arrogance.

Over 40,000 applications have been written for devices running AmigaOS.  Many, perhaps the majority, are available for AmigaOS 4.0 users.

AmigaOne Partners have the right to distribute AmigaOS 4.0 into the AmigaOne desktop computer market and into Cyberstorm PPC enabled devices.  Distribution into any other market or device requires a licensing and distribution agreement with Amiga, Inc.

Amiga, Inc. does not distribute or support AmigaOS 4.0.  For information on product availability, support, local dealers or resellers, please contact AmigaOne Partners through either Hyperion VOF or Eyetech Ltd.

For information on licensing, adaptation or modification of any existing Amiga Operating System, please contact,  technologylicensing@amiga.com

Please note, the development of future versions of the Amiga Operating System is not available for third party development or distribution.

AND

Just in case you still need help, heres that Link Again

http://www.amiga.com/amigaos/

Now the last I had looked(and I may have missed it), before this post was posted, they did not have this information about OS4 and what Amiga Inc's plans are, and what they have accepted.

IT LOOKS LIKE

OS4 Is allowed to be distributed, and perhaps also to new hardware. Lets bloody hope so!

Cheers!!

P.S. Hey Bug_Racer, havent seen you on here for a moment or two! 8-)  8-)

P.S.S.Strange, Ive never noticed a cheerleader on this site, please point her out to me Bloodmoney, Id definately like to meet her!(smiles) :-D  :-D  8-)
AMIGA will rise!

@ Starke

Perhaps more than 20,000 applications run on AOS4?  Yet there is no decent web browser

We all know how successful Amiga was (and still is, given that it's a vintage platform, it has a large following), but spouting random figures or outdated information from Amiga (or its partners) websites doesn't help your cause.  We've all seen that information before, and it is no indication whatsoever of anything changing in the Amiga world.

Here in Australia, you and I (and any other Amiga fans) have no option about buying new Amiga gear but to ship it from Europe or the US.  It's prohibitively expensive and it brings about other complications (warranty, power/video differences, etc), so why would the general populous want to do that?  I may be looking at things from a pessimistic viewpoint, but realistically, I can't see Amiga moving into a position of prominence by anything short of an astounding development.
Just a point - obviously you haven't been around here long, but please read websites before you post information from them

Now scheduled for commercial release in early 2005, AmigaOS 4.0 moves the Amiga Operating System to the modern Power PC chips enabling the easy use of off-the-shelf components from third party vendors.

That was taken from the same page you quoted from and linked to before.

I completely understand your enthusiasm to get Amiga as a prominent platform again, but berating people over the head with out of date information that has done the rounds so many times is not the way to do things.  Perhaps look at starting a website (or even a Myspace page), featuring the pros of AOS4 (fast startup time, responsive OS, low system specs - if new HW comes out - backwards compatibility with some AOS 3.X apps, etc) and draw people's attention to it.  Something like that would be a much better idea IMHO.  :-)

You missed it.  Its been there like that for quite a long time.  Nothing changed on that page.

You are not offering any sort of news flash.  If you find something they actually did update content-wise, please let us know.  None of us have been able to find anything yet.  And since company websites are meant to convey information easily and in a straight-forward manner there likely is nothing new.

People who are customers of Amiga by having bought their products and supported their platform are not the ones "blinded by arrogance".  Being a company that seems to take that user community for granted probably fits that description much much better.

Sadly it did, along with the 2005 date that DarkLight brought up.

If who ever is responsible for Amiga.com were to say add "" in their root page, somebody would notice it in 15ns and a few minutes later there would be a post about it on aw.net.

I sir, take offense to that comment.  We are not a "pit of negativity".  We are the very mirror image of a inversely proportional mountain of karmatic positivity.

In other words, we firmly believe that karma has come about and deservedly bit them right square on the arse.

Nothing negative about that at all.

;)

Amiga.org tems to be very technical and by that token much more realistic... realism has both positive and negative parts.
