Indeed. The original contract stated an estimated release date of late 2002 if I am not mistaken and Hermans said in an interview that the CSPPC will be the first platform OS4 will be released for.  :lol:

Sure, a lot of things changed and OS4 has different features than originally planned, but still it's kind of funny looking up the old ETA's. (OS5.0 2Q2000, etc.)

... and it would be (finally) the only available way to compare AmigaOS4 and MOS on the very same machine!

Speaking as a (lapsed*) beta tester for said system, I can confirm it exists and it works. Everything else is up for debate I guess.

*and that's one of gripes I have about my present job. Never any time to myself :-(

if the release was projected for 1st qrt 2007 that gives us until 03/31?
is the hold up then a issue between amiga inc and hyperion
elbox stated not supporting til os4ppc release.  do we support it then knowing fully well
that the chipset and os are rapidly becoming obsolite?or will cold fire be all that better?

What they actually suggested was that it wouldn't look good on their resume. They were under the feeling that offering a new OS for an old platform would make it hard to convince serious investors or business partners.

Not sure if there is still a viable "classic" PPC market, but I'd sure be willing to give them my money for running OS4 on my good old Blizzard.
